Goal and impact

The algorithm checks various details provided by the citizen. If no irregularities are detected in the application or declaration, it can be processed without the intervention of a member of staff. If, however, an anomaly is detected, the application or declaration is placed in a holding queue where it is checked by a member of staff. The algorithm can only automatically approve an application or declaration. Only a civil servant can reject an application or declaration.

Considerations

As many straightforward applications and declarations are processed automatically, the civil servant has more time to devote to the special and/or complex declarations and applications received by the local authority. This enables them to be assessed more effectively and accurately. Consequently, the person submitting the declaration or application receives better assistance and fewer errors are made. This ensures a higher quality of the BRP.

Human intervention

The algorithm is based on a positive scenario. This means that straightforward declarations and applications are processed automatically. Should any unusual circumstances arise, the application or declaration is always assessed by a civil servant. The civil servant then checks the application or declaration themselves and may either process or reject it. In the event of a rejection, it is always the civil servant who does this, and never the algorithm.
