Responsible use
Goal and impact
OBJECTIVE: The aim of the algorithm is to automatically allocate cases to job coaches at W&I and MO. This is quicker than allocating them manually. IMPACT: Thanks to the algorithm, we need to spend less time manually allocating cases.
Considerations
The algorithm-based application allocates cases amongst job coaches. Apart from that, using this application does not change the current working method in any way. Allocations can also be adjusted if they are incorrect. This ensures that the allocation is proportional.
Human intervention
There is no human intervention during the allocation of cases. However, if it transpires that a case has not been assigned to the correct team, it can be reallocated by a person. In that sense, there is human intervention.

Technical design
Rotterdam residents receiving social security benefits receive support from a job coach to help them find work. The algorithm helps to allocate new cases amongst the teams of job coaches.
The algorithm operates on a rule-based system and considers a limited number of characteristics, such as postcode, age and residence status. Based on these, it determines which team is best suited to a particular case. The programme does not assign an individual employment coach; this is done manually within the team.
