Forestry Commission

About this organisation

Staatsbosbeheer manages the Netherlands' green heritage. With knowledge and skill, Staatsbosbeheer takes care of nature and everything it produces: a multitude of plants and animals, space for movement, green energy, construction and raw materials and clean air. By always consciously weighing up multiple interests, we understand the art of uniting these different roles in a small country. This way, we contribute to a greener and healthier Netherlands where people can continue to live comfortably and safely in the future.

Staatsbosbeheer is a legal entity with a statutory duty (RWT): to manage the entrusted land and to bring it to sustainable benefit to society. This task is guaranteed by the Act on the Independence of the Forestry Commission.

Staatsbosbeheer does not currently use impactful algorithms. Internally, we keep a register of the algorithms we do use. These are very limited in number and scope.
