Working together on water for a safe, dry and healthy living environment. From that background

Hoogheemraadschap de Stichtse Rijnlanden works in the central Netherlands to protect against flooding, a healthy ground and surface water system and the treatment of wastewater. We do this together with organisations, co-authorities and residents.A total of 21 municipalities are in our management area. The water board employs about 775 people. Our head office is in Houten.


We classify AI systems based on three risk levels: prohibited, high-risk and low-risk. HDSR takes into account the requirements of the law not only for AI systems used in water management, water treatment but also in office automation. AI systems that affect human resource management, decision-making or public services, we classify as high-risk systems and must comply with strict transparency and reporting requirements.
