Responsible use

Goal and impact

With this algorithm, we aim to be able to process deeds as quickly and correctly as possible. It helps us work efficiently and improve the quality of deed processing.

Considerations

Legal facts KIK 2nd part has no negative impact on society. The process is designed so that legal certainty is not diminished and probably even improved.

Human intervention

Human on the loop. This algorithm is used in an automated process. There is no direct, manual checking. We check through a 2% sample.

Risk management

This algorithm has minimal risk.

Legal basis

Under Section 3(1a) of the Land Registry Act, it is our statutory duty to manage and update the Basic Land Registry. That is where this algorithm helps.

Operations

Data

We test the ruleset on a test set of 83,414 deeds. This training set is static and is not refreshed. This means that no new texts are added.

Technical design

We use a set of rules (regular expressions). These help recognise registrable facts. The custodian has checked and approved them.
